SDSU Transfer Decisions Thread Fall 2017

Accepted!
GPA: 3.09
ADT: Yes
Major: Political Science
Local: Yes
Accepted: SDSU, CSULB, Sacramento State, UC Merced
Denied: Cal Poly SLO
Pending: UCI, UCSC, UCSD

There’s no rhyme or reason to SDSU admissions, I see people with much higher GPAs than mine being rejected and though I wasn’t accepted I was offered waitlist for psych.

Major: Business Management (Bacholar of Science)
GPA: 3.35 (originally 3.54 but due to my canadian university lowered my gpa)
AA-T/AS-T?: Yes, will have it by the end of Spring 2017
Pre-reqs: All completed
Golden 4: Will be done by Spring 2017
SD Area?: Yes

I am a transfer student, and i have still not gotten an answer. Should I be worried? I know the program is impacted and will be tough but I have an offer from Dominguez hills that expires on May 1st will I get an answer before then?

Has anyone submitted their transcripts to SDSU yet? I did a week ago, but it still says they have not been received on my webportal.

@PaleoMajor Which transcripts? I submitted all the ones due thus far but the last ones were due quite some time ago. And on my portal it shows that everything has been received.

My initial transcripts are due 5/1. I submitted the request earlier this week but I anticipate it might take a while to get them input. My school does it electronically to SDSU, so if a school doesn’t then make sure to account for mailing time.

When is the last day to get accepted into sdsu im a transfer student with an adt. But it is still pending.

I had 3 transcripts to send in, one from Mesa/City/Miramar. All three were submitted electronically. So far only the Mesa/City/Miramar transcript has been received. called SDSU admissions and they never received other two sent out. Those are community colleges in northern California have use national student Clearinghouse website them. The option it gave me was electronic about $20 per transcript. Now resubmit These just for my initial May 1st deadline transcripts.

I am having the same issue @PaleoMajor . I sent my transcripts in from up north on the 4th but it said it would take some time. If the webportal doesn’t change by the end of the week or by next monday than I will call and possibly order them again. They did receive the one from Mesa but I have another school that sent it electronically and that hasn’t been updated. I hope that they change soon. This is causing way too much anxiety.

@KammieTAS51 SDSU admissions told me to wait until this Wednesday just to be sure, then go ahead and resubmit. I submitted mine March 31 and still nothing. I’m starting to get worried and I don’t want to wait to resubmit them.

I’m new to CC and decided to join since this seems to be an awesome community for students to connect and communicate with one another about similar topics. I am a transfer student from San Diego and SDSU was my 1st and only school I applied to and I have been admitted. My stats are listed below.

Major: Health Communication
GPA: 3.4
AA-T/AS-T?: Yes
Pre-reqs: Completed; All A’s
Golden 4: Completed
SD Area?: Yes

SDSU Status: Admitted on March 24th; email received on March 28th
Official Transcripts: Submitted and Received (3 local community colleges)
Intent to Enroll: Paid

If I dropped a class that is not needed for transfer, will my admission be withdrawn? since I listed that class as a course in progress when I applied.

@Cali1719 I don’t think so. It won’t affect your GPA, and the class isn’t a part of your major prep or General Ed. I think you’ll be fine, but you may want to ask a counselor or talk to someone at the transfer center were your at now.

I’m definitely in the same boat @PaleoMajor I thought after being admitted, I wouldn’t have to feel anxiety and stress about the process anymore. Now I am stressing about whether they have received my transcripts or not. I just checked and nothing was changed. I will check and call tomorrow. I might have to resubmit, which sucks because that is more money out of my pocket.

Does anyone know if we can take summer classes at SDSU before fall?

@Cali1719 I believe your admission allows you to enroll fully matriculated for the Fall 2017 semester. However, anyone can take classes through Open University at SDSU which can be applied towards your degree. I’d inquire with admissions as to whether or not they’re ok with it, just to be safe.

Can someone help me out? So I got admitted to sdsu for business management. But this semester I had to drop a humanities class and I reported I was going to take that class. Will they decline my admission? Because that is a general ed class. Which also means because of that class I wont get my adt but i do not think I applied with an adt.

Hi everyone! I’m new to CC and I will be applying soon this upcoming fall – I found this thread to be very helpful regarding gpa, majors, etc. and it helped me get a feel for what to expect in a few months. I am currently at a community college planning to transfer to either SDSU or UCSD. My concern during the application period is that I will not have all major prerequisites completed, I will have 2-3 classes left over (If you count a laboratory as one) - will that hurt my chances of being accepted? Also, since most of you guys on this forum have been accepted, can someone please chance me?

Major: Biology
GPA: 3.42
Golden 4: Yes
SD Area?: Yes
Prerequisites: in progress, 2-3 classes will be missing by application period

sdsuucsd, will those classes be in progress at the time you apply? After talking to an SDSU adviser, they stressed how important completing (or having in-progress) all GE & Major Prep is to getting accepted. I saw this with my peers who had similar GPAs and the same major as each other. Those of us who had it all complete were accepted after a wait, and the ones without everything complete/in-progress were rejected in the first batch. This was for Computer Science but I imagine it would be similar with biology.

@wc0001 My GE requirements will be completed by this August, after the summer session – By the time I will be applying, I will have 3 major prep courses completed and by the end of Spring I will have 6 out of the 9 major prep courses I need to fulfill. I am just hoping that SDSU considers me for admission since my major prep courses will still be in progress with almost all of them completed. I just feel like I’m behind by only one semester due to all the prerequisites I’ve had to take up to this point & I’m worried that I may be rejected with only one semester of work left to do when I could just take them at SDSU and go from there, if that makes sense.
