Anyone applying to the Navy SEAP Program this year? I feel like there’s going to be significantly less applicants this year because the application window is about 3 months earlier than it normally is. It’s a little strange that they made it so early this year I haven’t even started my essays…
I am… but I did not write much. not sure if I can get in.
I applied but they moved the deadline. Have you received acceptance yet or do you know when we do?
I got my application unsubmitted so I could work on it more…I think they’ve stopped reviewing applications until all of them are in, so we’ll probably get results late January - early March but that’s just a guess
I just submitted my application today to NRL after getting it reopened. How much did you write for the essays? I wrote maybe ten sentences each .
Has anyone applied before? If so did you get in?
@bdkshabsien I wrote almost to the character limit for maybe 2 of the essays, and the others I wrote about 70% of the character limit. So maybe 20 sentences? Also I looked around at old SEAP threads and a few people said they got in by contacting the lab they want to go to directly and saying a little about themselves to convince them.
If one gets selected, great… but If you are an alternate… for example or an alternate on a few lists… what are the chances?
did anyone get notified yet?
I got in but I can’t access the award portal yet
Yeah I have the same problem as @SATurdays, got an acceptance email but couldn’t log into the website.
Did anyone successfully log in?
They fixed it today at around 1 pm!
What did you see when you logged onto the award website?
Which labs did you apply to? I haven’t received an acceptance or an email saying that I wasn’t picked
Also what grades are you in? I wonder if that has something to do with it?
I’m not sure but I think if you were accepted, you should have gotten an acceptance already or will very very soon. I’m a junior if it helps but I think the specific labs you applied to would make more of a difference then someone’s grade level haha
That’s probably true What lab did you apply to? I don’t expect to get in this year but I hope to make it in my Junior year. I applied to NRL in DC.
If we got in, should we expect to hear from our mentors soon or should we reach out to them?
How do you know what specific lab (not the one you applied to) you were accepted to intern at?
