This has been a recurring problem. You may want to try Google. Also post on this thread to get a quick response. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/community-forum-issues/1808877-cc-search-problems-p1.html
Thanks! Maybe CC should just integrate google search instead of trying to maintain its own search index…
Thanks for reporting, @OHMomof2! I’ve informed my colleagues about the issue. I’ll keep you posted.
Same issue here. Even keywords in the post above me don’t yield search success.
Just wondering, what causes this to occur?
We’re not sure what’s causing this issue, but it has happened a few times. Hopefully we can find a permanent fix.
The search issue is functioning properly again. Please let me know if you encounter any other difficulties. Thanks again!
Thanks!
Yes, seems to be working for me. Thx.
This issue may have returned. Noting, in case others see the same.
Right now, seems random.
@lookingforward, I am not sure if you are referring to this, but when you search multiple words the system shows results based on the number of words it finds. e.g. if you search for 5 words, first you’ll see results with all 5 words, then with 4, 3, or so on. These results are indeed displayed in reversed chronological order. I hope this helps!
I think the issue is with fresh posts, within, say, an hour or two. Some window.
Someone referred to something I hadn’t picked up on, in a thread. I searched on one keyword, to find the original comment and noticed the post this morning was not included in the results.
I can live with the fact a recent post may not be included, can understand there may be some new sweep needed before it shows. Just wanted to mention this.
Thanks.
