First of all hello everyone I'm new on this forum and also I'm not from USA I'm from Georgia (eastern Europe) and I have two years before graduating school (I'm 16 years old), I'm playing basketball and I want to start searching for universities in USA, because I want to have better education than in my country and I'm starting searching for it now, because I want to have more time to start preparation. I'm pretty sure that in USA I'll be able to achieve more in basketball too. So I'm searching for universities in whole America, which will give me chance to take exams directly from my country or somehow I'll be able to get there from my country and of course my objective is to have good education and good training in basketball. I hope anyone can give me an interesting advice and if you have any ideas how I'll be able to get there I'd be very thankful.
Thanks in advance.

Cost may be an issue…

Most colleges here will have basketball but there are various levels of competitiveness at them. You have to be a recruited athlete to play basketball on the best teams. see articles like this [College Basketball Power Rankings - Top 25 NCAA Basketball Teams - FOX Sports on MSN](http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketball/powerRankings)

Are you looking to be a recruited athlete? Are you an excellent player…top, top, top?

Thanks everyone for your answers… Well I’m neither an excellent player nor professional, though I’m just 16 at this moment and in my country I’m pretty good player and I believe that for the time of graduating school I’ll have level of NCAA, if not division 1 at least for division 2. Well I’m just starting collecting all information so I think all of your answers will be very helpful for me, so thank you.

Less competitive D1 basketball schools with good academics: Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, California, Villanova, University of Maryland, University of Texas, University of Virginia, Lehigh, Vanderbilt, Northeastern

Look at Davidson College. Division 1 and great academics.
