I've heard absolutely fantastic things about Seattle Pacific's pre-med program. 100% admission into some of the top med schools in the country (consistently U of Washington, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, etc.), great advising, research and internship opportunities . . . sounds great.

I was wondering if anyone had any other helpful information about the school (very small and conservative - worth it for a supposedly wonderful program?). I'm a Washington resident, thinking seriously about pre-med. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do they have an Honors program for high performing students? Is is possible that premeds are drawn from an elite group of students at the university? Just a thought in response to norcalguys valid point. I agree, you should look at how many people apply per year, % accepted, and GPAs of admitted students. Just because a school has someone going to a Stanford or Harvard once a decade does not mean they routinely send students there.

Four years ago when we were looking, they were just building their science building. It is a very nice school with nice people and this may just sound wrong, but it also seemed to be a very religous school to the point where science might get in the way of other things.

Again, I know alot of people who are spu grads and they are wonderful people. However, a turn off for us was the required prayer club stuff. It was the deal breaker for us. We are big believers in religous freedom, which doesn't include a requirement to pray or belong to anything. To choose to is one thing, to be required, cheapens it for us. It's come to Jesus, not forced to Jesus.
