Second chance

Will WP consider an re-application from a cadet that seperated from class of 2010 during beast? Currently in major university ROTC program and wants second chance.

I don't see why not- if you still maintain the minimum requirements for admission to West Point (17-23 years old, unmarried, no kids, physically, academically, and medically qualified) you should be good to go.

Why did you seperate?

Well I seperated about 2 and a half weeks into Beast. I guess I just freaked out and let everything get to me. I wasn't mature enough to deal with all of the emotions and make a good decision. Instead I made a hasty decision and left the academy. I have regretted the decision ever since. I have had a year of college now and lots of time to think about it. What I have come to is that I still want a life in the Army and given a second chance at West Point I would finish this time no matter what.

Best of luck to you. And if you explain it to Admissions the way you explained it here, I bet they'll see your sincerity.

Not to rain on your parade, but here it is straight up, don't count on it. IF you can prove to admissions as well as your congressman why they should give you another chance rather than to someone else, you MIGHT get back in. However, they don't like to waste their time on folks who are wishy-washy about their decisions. Doesn't make for a good leader, which is why you're fighting an uphill battle. IF you have been stellar in college with stellar grades, they might consider it. If your grades have been just ok, learn to be happy where you are.

But having said that, good luck to you in your reapplication. It does happen from time to time. But very rarely.
