I am putting my first choice major as Business. However, I’m stuck on what I should do for my second choice major.
Any insight into what I should put for my second choice? I really don’t know what I would fall back on.
Thanks.

A lot of people that don’t get into the business school decide to do economics. That way your core classes will be similar and you can internally transfer after a year.
@danfer91 I heard internally transferring was super difficult. Is that true?
I heard that as well. It is almost impossible to transfer after a year.
Transferring is not impossible. To transfer into McCombs at the end of freshman year, you need to have around A 3.8 GPA. https://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/BBA/Admissions/Transfer-Students
You will need to have certain classes taken care of. You must take 26 hours freshman year (AP, etc don’t count toward this). You can only transfer in in the fall so if you get turned down end of freshman year, you’ll need to wait a year. Once you have 90 hours (excluding AP) you are encouraged to consider other options.

It is a question of how badly you want to attend UT. Are you willing to major in something different? Are you willing to get almost perfect grades freshman year to qualify for internal transfer to the major you want?
Internally transferring at UT is very difficult or very easy depending on what you are trying to transfer into. Business is very competitive and will be difficult to transfer into if you don’t make it in out of high school.
