I sent in my application about a month ago. However, I recently read a newspaper article about the importance of college essays and rewrote a MUCH better essay. I wanted to know if it would be possible to send in my new essay to replace my old one. What do you think?

To REPLACE it...?

I guess you could try, but why would they allow you to send in an essay a month late? I realize that since this is your own app, you might not think it's unfair, but the underlying situation that you're trying to create would make the playing ground dreadfully uneven.

yes go send it!! dont regret it!!

I think it's OK but I'm not sure how they'll react to it. I did my Stanford app last minute as I waiting to hear from Penn ED and wasn't in the mood to fill it out until I heard. But anyway, my essays for Stanford weren't the best so I sent in a replacement with better ones. They were essentially the same essays though, so I think sending completely different essays would be more of a problem than what I did.

Someone asked this earlier and most people said it was OK so I figured I'd give it a try. I have no idea how they react to this though, so I might have made a terrible mistake that you'd rather not copy. :)
