second person?

<p>basically, i love writing things in second person. i'm thinking about using first AND second person in my essay, mixed, because i love using "you" that much. is the use of second person completely unacceptable in a college essay? i know it's unacceptable in formal work in general, but college app essays are supposed to be conversational.</p>

<p>edit: and yes, i do like making everything lowercase also. :P wasn't planning on doing that for my app essay, though.</p>

<p>It might be ok if it is done right. Using "you’ in an essay can often come across as sort of accusatory even if it is unintentional, so be careful of that. Otherwise I’d say go for it, just make sure it doesn’t come across as sloppy writing.</p>
