I was just wondering if anybody else is having second thoughts. I hated my school so much I came home and just locked myself in my room for 2 years, and was hving an all around bad time. I was set on boarding school, and now that I have 4 acceptances under my belt (as well as a wait list and a denial) suddenly I don't want to go. My school and home life has been looking up greatly the past 2 months, I'm finally adjusting and becoming my own self.

I recognize that there are hundreds of students who would kill to be in my place. I'm not looking for grief, just wondering if anybody else is suddenly much more reluctant to go then they were before. I'll probably snap out of this, but I can't think about leaving behind what I've been getting at home anymore.

I think you second thoughts are normal. Change is always unsettling. Go to revisits. I bet you’ll have a blast and you’ll see what bs can offer you. It is likely to erase your doubts. As scary as it can be ahead of time, I have found the major changes in my life to be positive, life altering decisions. Onward and upward! :)

Yeah I still know about all the benefits and the stuff I’ll love about the schools, it’s just I have my first girlfriend, good friends, participating on my soccer team, getting along well with the family and teachers. Stuff here is just looking better too. =(

Just think about all the things you’ll be missing if you don’t go to boarding school, because if you do go to bs when you come back you’re friends will still be there.

It’s absolutely normal to have second thoughts. I’m nervous too, but I know it’ll be really cool. In fact, you are likely to go through waves of intense desire and second thoughts all the way until next September. My advice is: When you have second thoughts, love school your in now and continue to work hard. When you have intense desire, research the heck out of the school and check out courses. Go to boarding school in September (most likely you will realize you love it), then if you still don’t like it come home after a year.
