<p>So are there any secret societies at WashU? I've heard of Lock and Chain, Chimes, and Thurtene but they seem pretty open. Any real secret societies on the magnitude of let's say skull and bones at yale? </p>

<p>No. Thurtene is about as close as you’d get. But, they are secretive mostly because of how their organization is internally run, not because of their membership list or anything. They’re even called academic honoraries, not secret societies. I don’t think it’s really in Wash U’s culture to have something like that.</p>
