Anyone know how to safely attach your laptop to your desk in the dorm room? I want to do this to prevent anyone from stealing it.

Buy a laptop lock. Loop it around your desk (you'll figure out a way that it'll work best based on what the desk actually looks like).
Then lock your door

My desk had a steel bar thing to hook the laptop lock to... worked well. However, if someone wants to steal your laptop, they're going to regardless of what lock or theft protection system you have on it.

Here's what I use. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834999815

Its going to cost about $35, but I suppose that's better than a stolen laptop.

Good! Thats what I bought yesterday. I'm sure it will work well.

Get one of those things in BB or CC that like lock down the laptops to the table.

What about apple and the macbooks, they have there own slot towards the front. What is a good lock for that? Or am i an idiot and they're all universal locks?
Thanks
Mario

macbooks have kensington lock ports, you can find locks all over the place for it.
