I’ve been away for a while and the Forum looks new to me.
How can I reset preferences so I can see the newest posts on threads ?
@Brave Ulysses, the new forum now provides a bookmark option at the top of each thread. Bookmark the threads you want to follow and then go to “My Bookmarks” on the left menu bar to see your collection. These bookmarks are sorted by the most recent post.
Thanks for the reply , but I’m looking to sort posts so that on extraordinarily long threads so I can read the newest posts on page 1 of the thread as opposed to going to page 77. Any hints ?
When you click on an old thread it will automatically open on the page that contains the newest replies. Basically that becomes the first page you see. Hope this helps!
I thought all questions about the forum were supposed to be posted on that thread…the official one! How come queries are being answered in separate threads, but NO updates have been done on that other thread.
Which is useless if you’ve never opened the thread.
The OP wants posts to go from newest to oldest rather than oldest to newest. Every other forum I’ve ever been on has this option so it’s not an extraordinary question.
@thumper1, I think it’s OK for people to post individual questions in this forum. The official replies thread is mainly designed to collect feedback on the migration. I actually encourage this practice, as it makes it easier for us (the CC admin team) to see and answer new queries.
Regarding the updates, or better said, lack of, we will make sure to communicate whenever the case. So far, the efforts were put in upgrading the platform and making sure the site is secure. The maintenance work done this past Friday night is the best example. Thanks!
@romanigypsyeyes, it’s probably not the most straightforward way, but what I suggest is the following:

bookmark threads of interest;

go to “My Bookmarks” and there you will see those threads sorted by the most recent reply (newest to oldest);

to keep track of new replies within an already opened thread, click on it and it will open on the page with the newest replies you didn’t see.

There should be a way to sort newest posts in preferences , this new platform looks like a big step back , i was on this forum daily for 5 years , what happened. it’s very counterintuitive.
