I can’t think of 1 other public message board that doesn’t list when the most recent posts have taken place on their sub-forums. Any plans to fix this? I can’t see how this is not a priority. Would love someone from CC to actually give a true status for this one.
Yes, I think it’s time for an update on the status of this one. Someone, please?
Agreed. Until then, you can bookmark threads you care about and they should come up on the world icon as new posts occur.
@bjdkin, these are all items on our list. The team is working on prioritizing them. We will post an update as soon as new developments are made to the site.
Sorin, most of the items people have posted about have been on the “list” for months. Can you update us if any of those will be fixed, ie post numbers?
And I have no idea how that emoticon got in the middle of the sentence!
@ccadmin_sorim, I realize that you are most likely caught between a rock and a hard place, but your reply does not help at all. This is the same response I have gotten to this question since January (oh, and I asked again in Feb annd in March). Thanks anyways, though.
Just wondering the status of this request? You used to be able to click on Alpha list of colleges and there was an indicator if there were new posts…or at least if you clicked on a specific letter, there was a “most recent” column in the sub-forum.
Unfortunately, because there is no easy way to see if there are new posts on a particular college–there is virtually no activity on most of the colleges that are not “top CC universities” or Ivies.
Any plans to correct this? This was a feature that was available in the old format–and really, is just the way that most forums (that want to be user friendly as sources of information) are set up. It has been over 6 months and we are into a new application cycle. Thanks!
You are absolutely correct that this should be a default forum behavior. As much as this would seem to be a priority, we’ve had so many other fixes that we’ve requested from the new vendor over the months that we had to re-prioritize many items. Hard to give a timeline when the entity who controls the schedule (i.e. the site vendor) has been largely unresponsive. It’s not the business relationship we envisioned or were promised, but things are gradually improving (though perhaps yet to manifest here).
It’s a shame we’ve lost traffic on these school forums because members aren’t able to gauge recent activity without having to click on each forum of interest. There are plans to correct this…as there have been plans for months now. Where it sits among the list of priorities I am not sure, but I will reach out to our product manager to see if there are any new details on this.
Our apologies for the LONG wait.
Wish you guys would just cut your losses and go back to the old vBulletin forum software. Everyone would be a lot happier.
@Lenitus, thanks very much for checking. While the delay has been frustrating, I think not knowing is the worst part. So any news you can pass along will be much appreciated!
Thanks, @lenitus . Hoping this gets corrected soon.
We often wish it were that easy, @patsmom. The investment of time and resources to migrate hasn’t yet yielded a sufficient return, but it isn’t a simple switch we can flip to revert back. We have begun to finally see improvements on our end (i.e. more open and consistent communication with the company that hosts the site) that we are hopeful will translate to a more consistent delivery of fixes and features going forward. I realize that still sounds general and vague, but it’s all I got.
@tikimom: Sure thing!
I hear ya, @bjdkin
