Hello! Or should I say, Privet, kak dela? I speak a little Russian and I’m also a first generation immigrant, but from Turkey! Overall, you have a great shot for almost all the schools you mentioned. The GPA when weighted is great! Your ECs are also amazing. Your courses seem challenging as well.

Good luck!
Chance me back? Chance me for University of Rochester? I’ll Chance back :)

Your unweighted GPA is pretty low, as is your ranking for UPenn/NYU/Swarthmore/JHU.
You’ll get into Drexel/Arcadia. An average chance at Carnegie Mellon/LeHigh, simply because of your GPA. If you retake your SAT and do better, that’d be nice also. Good luck though, apply ED somewhere for a better chance!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537738-my-one-only-chance-thread-need-advice-will-chance-back-penn-ed-hyp-etc.html</a></p>

The SAT is also great!

Even though your weighted is a little low, those schools will see the intense rigor of your classes, admissions will give you a lot of credit for doing that. Your extracurriculars (very important) are fantastic and that will put you ahead of everyone else with your same grades. You’re going to have a tough choice to make on which of these you want to go to with all your stats!

(rechance back if you can)

White male from North Dakota applying to schools in the Midwest without financial aid needs, and trying to get into, not only a great engineering (specifically mech., comp., aero.) school, but a school with other highly ranked programs such as architecture or business. I also want the general “college campus” feel that I got when I visited Purdue (if you’ve been there you’ll know what I mean). So…

With a -29 ACT score (28ENG,28MATH,30READ,25SCI,8WRIT)

 • Unweighted 3.87 cumulative GPA
 • AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Programming, Spanish1-3
 • Varsity golf(all-state,captain), tennis, spanish club, Philanthropy&Youth club, volunteering @ Humane Society, and Eagle Scout
 • Some recommendations, a great essay, and some charm…

What are my chances at getting into the engineering schools of

 1. PURDUE UNIVERSITY - WEST LAFAYETTE
 2. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - MADISON
 3. UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA - TWIN CITIES
 4. UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS - URBANA-CHAMPAIGN
 5. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN - ANN ARBOR
 6. IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY - AMES

Don’t have to rate my chances for all, but a few would be greatly appreciated! (campus descriptions welcome!)

Arcadia, bucknell, Lehigh, and franklin and Marshall are low matches. Wait maybe Lehigh is a match I’m too familiar. Nyu and Carnegie Mellon are both slightly higher matches. Jhu, swathmire, and Upenn. Are all reaches.

You might want to consider some higher level state schools like umass or the some ucs but you should get into to mutiple schools on your list.

Chance back

Here is what I think. You can definitely increase your chances by writing awesome essays, but after that it’s pretty much all luck. So, good luck!!

Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1527858-chance-me-harvard-yale-etc-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Arcadia, Drexel safeties
Swarth, UPenn, Carnegie, JHU reaches
Bucknell, F&M, NYU, Lehigh match

Your ECs are really good, might want to retake the SAT. Your classes definitely show rigor which may forgive a bit for your good, but not great GPA. Are you First gen. for college?

bump, anyone??

I’m only going to chance you for colleges that I’m familiar with :p

Carnegie Mellon University - Low Reach
Drexel University - Match
Johns Hopkins University - High Match
Lehigh University - High Match
Swarthmore College - Reach

If you get your SATs up to 23+ to make up for a low GPA, I think you’ll be in at more than 1/2 of your schools.

Good luck!

Okay, SAT is great. UPenn is definitely a reach. All others are matches. Kudos to pretty solid stats.

Arcadia University- idk

Unfortunately, your c will probably hurt your chances at some of your schools, but you’re still in the top 10th percentile, so hopefully it won’t matter too much. Good luck!

Chance me back please! :)
