Seeking advice on American School in London

Has someone transferred their child in Grade 12 from a public school in US to ASL? How hard will it be to get in? Our daughter is very bright but we are worried about taking this great expatriate position because we are really worried if she will be able to get in. Are there any other options for schools that offer AP program in London? She is aiming for Stanford/Ivy Leagues. Is it even advisable to move her at this point?

My knowledge is not current (20 years old) but I thought they took pretty much everyone. Certainly it is not an elite/hard to get into school (but ask the school directly!).

I don’t think Stanford/Ivies decide to admit or not because of the school, I believe they look at what the applicant has done while at school. By the time a kid is a senior their record is basically set. How would 3 months of grades etc at a different school matter in the slightest?

While my experience with this school is truly ancient, these schools cater to families who relocate (and who cannot necessarily be selective or strategic.) They tend to be very good at quickly assessing where kids are and making the best of that. They also tend to be very open to conversations with prospective families because schooling is often one of the biggest concerns for a family contemplating a move.

I’d have the conversation directly with them (and possibly their college counselor.) You’ll get better Intel there.

Good luck!
