Selecting the "right" classes

If I am thinking about pre-med but I am not too sure about it, is it reasonable to just take either chem 141 and bio 141 rather than both? If I eventually do decide to pursue med, will that screw me up?

I should let bernie answer this, but since I’m a prospective pre-med as well, I’ll give you my logic. One logic of mine is, if you don’t take both now, you’re goin to need to double up in your intro science courses next year or whenever, since you still have physics to take too (assuming you don’t have AP cred for it). Another reasoning, I think chem 141 is a pre-req/co-req for bio 141, so you can’t take bio 141 by itself. With that in mind, if you do happen to become a pre-med, you can’t take upper level bio’s (which I presume you would want to take as a pre-med) without the bio 141. Freshmen year, you kind of can’t delay the chem, and in turn, by delaying the biology, you would delay the rest of your schedule the following years if you decide on pre-med. All in all, I would try to take both.

I agree w/knt102000. I believe I said the same in a recent thread. Point is, doubling up will eventually happen. And it can be w/2 intros. or an upper level and an intro. I would choose the intros.
