I wanted to know about any suggestions for applying to MIT successfully. After a high school like The Scarsdale High school, what exactly can one do to tap maximum opportunities to have an edge in the application? Any clubs or any projects anybody did or anything else ?

We can’t really tell you; just do your best in HS and do what you enjoy. Make sure grades and test scores are up to par.

Stop thinking that you can copy someone else’s club or project and that will give you an edge. Read the MIT admission pages, they have advice, read their admissions blog.

Great question. It’s one that gets asked often. However, it primarily serves to show how little you understand.

Do yourself a favor. Spend 3-4 hours of your time reading through the past year’s threads in this CC forum for MIT. Be sure to follow the many links that point to the MIT admissions office blogs. Then please do come back and ask any questions you may have.

@jpm50!wow that was so helpful.

You could apply to a different school. This kind of thinking isn’t really compatible with anything MIT. Once you ask about gaming admissions at MIT you’ve shown yourself to be at the wrong school. Nothing lost though because they knew it before you asked. There is nothing at MIT that has to do with gaining an edge. I think you meant to post this elsewhere.
