Selectivity of applied science majors?

Hi,
How much selectivity is there in matriculation into these applied science majors for somone w/ stats like
CR: 650 M: 670 W: 560
UW: 88 W: 97 ( hard coursload of ap classes)
Chemistry
Biochemistry
Applied statistics
BME
Chem E
Second question, how does sbu count ap courses, my school weighs them 14 points higher than a regents class. Is this close to sbu system of weighting? Also does the ap score have more concitoration than the ap class average?
If you cant answer these questions, is there anyone i can contact such as dept heads, admissions counselors at sbu and how can i contact them.
Thanks

Unfortunately, I’m going to be almost completely useless because I can only speak for Chem E; but hopefully some of this applies to the other majors on your list. For the other majors, you should also look up their requirements on the academics part of the website. To get into CME, you can either be admitted directly (mark CME as intended major when you apply) or be admitted later. The former is the much better option, but if you decide to switch in at some point like I did:

“1. Students must have a grade of B or higher in all 100-level mathematics, physics and chemistry courses required by the major. A grade of B- or better is required in CHE 321, CHE 383 or 327, and CME 304, unless permission to waive is granted by the undergraduate program director.
2. Students must have an overall GPA of 3.2 with not more than one grade of C+ or lower in any course, unless permission to waive is granted by the undergraduate program director.
3. Department must receive completed course evaluations for all transferred courses that are to be used to meet requirements of the major. A minimum of one semester, carrying a full-time load with a minimum of 12 credits in residence at Stony Brook University is required for all transfer students.”

As for your second question, AP scores can either count for credits/DEC requirements or can be used as an equivalent to an SBU course. They do not count towards your GPA, and once you’re accepted into the school the AP score is the only thing that matters.

Just offhand if I am meeting the 50 percentile in grades for stonybrook university. Do I have a realistic shot at getting into a applied science major. Were your or people you know stats are similar? Sorry about the questions I’m not sure if I can get this info from a sbu rep.
