Selectivity of Colleges

Can some1 explain this to me? A school like Amherst has an 11% acceptance rate, but Willams College is ranked number 1 as the best college. Wouldnt it be harder to get into Amherst?

I just want some1 to explain the selectivity process and tell me why some schools with higher acceptance rates are still harder to get into.
EX: Wake forest to Pepperdine

College of the Ozarks has a 9% acceptance rate while Berkeley has a 22% acceptance rate. Doesn’t that mean it’s harder to get into the College of the Ozarks?

Did u see that I asked to explain it?

You didn’t write that before phuriku posted. And also, wrong discussion board.

Why is the question on the UChicago forum?

Sorry im new.

And i wrote the first paragraph before hand. The first sentence was there already
