Hi, I'm currently a freshman Business major looking to transfer into Miami U. I recently read on Businessweek that the selectivity of Miami University's Farmer School of Business is 27% (rate at which they accept students after they do their 2nd year). Miami University : Undergraduate Profile - BusinessWeek Also BusWeek ranked them in the top 20.

Is it that hard to get into Farmer? Thats a crazy number. It would really disappoint me if I were to be accepted as a 2nd year student, work my butt off and not get accepted into Farmer. At 27 percent, I would rather try my luck at Michigan State or Indiana University.

It seems like a very easy school to get into with close to 75-80 percent admit rates but just not so sure about the b-school.

Business school is not hard to get into at all. The acceptance rate is actually 79% with the yield being 27% as you mentioned. I feel that Miami U is a bit overrated because they are trying hard to create a new-Ivy image with their school that, in my opinion, does not work. If you go to Miami U, though, business is their hands down best program.

Are you sure, it just got updated today 3/4/11 and it says 38 percent are admitted into the program after completed credits.

I’m not sure trizz knows what he is talking about. The farmer school of business is really hard to get into and the acceptance rate is 38%. Seventy nine percent is the rate in which you get accepted into the institution not the business school. It all depends on your credentials and what school your at now. I just got accepted into the program the other day but I’m a sophomore.
