Self-Reporting Grades

If I'm planning to apply during the priority filling period, do i input my senior schedule? If i do, it requires that I put in the letter grade, but I haven't finished first semester. But if I don't put in 12th grade, it asks me too....

See the instructions: http://admissions.illinois.edu/pdf/SRAR_Worksheet.pdf

You should be allowed to put in “In Progress” instead of a grade for your senior year courses.

When and why did they start the SRAR process instead of having your high school submit the transcript? Is it so they don’t get all different transcripts from all the different schools? What is someone makes a mistake on the entering of the info? How long have they done it this way? My brother applied for Fall 2009 admission and did not do this…must be pretty recent. Pretty radical…no other school I am applying to does this!

It is new this year. Before now they always required transcript as part of application. Now they don’t want transcript until June after you complete high school. They will then compare for accuracy and what you submitted needs to be accurate. They tell you that you should get a copy of your transcript to fill in the information and make sure you double check everything. The UCs have done this for a long time.

Why change: computer files. With transcripts, someone had to put the grades into your admission file in the computer because review of files is now essentially all done via computer. Now they are just having the student submit a self-reported document that automatically goes into the computer.

Best way to avoid mistakes is to take advice and get copy of transcript and check and double check AND don’t wait to start filling out application until day before it is due.
