self study AP Euro, or take AP World class? advice and input GREATLY appreciated!

I’m in a huge dilemma…I signed up for AP Euro, but it conflicts with Orchestra. Because of this, I was considering a self/independent study; get the textbook from the teacher and the packets, and use PR and Modern European History by Viault, to study my way through. I am going for a 4 on the test, but a 3 is fine too.

Should I do that, or take the AP World class? I’m not a huge fan of World history, but I’m really interested in European history. I’m also taking AP Spanish, Lang, Physics B and Calc AB next year too.

For those of you who took one, the other, or both, what do you recommend I do? I really don’t know! I’m on the fence!

If you want it to show you’re taking hardest possible classes and want an AP history then it’s up to you. In the experience of my Ds at 2 different schools, though, sometimes you don’t get history credit for world in college (free elective or interdisciplinary, but still credit) so I guess you might want to look at some of your colleges if what credit you get matters.

That has happened to me this year. My AP Psychology class was conflicting with Orchestra. I dropped Orchestra though because I can get a tutor to teach me instead. Plus I had a new Orchestra the year before and he sucks. I think you should drop Orchestra because in my opinion an AP class is more important than Orchestra, but that’s just me.
