Self Study AP Schedule

I plan on majoring in Biology, and I was wondering what the best possible self study schedule would be. I don't necessarily want this schedule to be very practical but I do want to know what the max a person could possibly manage per grade level. I plan on using the information I'm given as a base line, to help me form a decent self study schedule.

My school only offers:
AP English
AP Biology
AP U.S. History

which I'll most likely be forced to do in my Senior Year, unless I'm able to convince my counselor to let me take those a year earlier.

The layout of what I basically want:

Freshmen:
(List of APs)
Sophmore:
(List of APs)
Junior:
(List of APs)
Senior:
(List of APs)

Also, it'd be even better if someone could leave the best resources to use to self study these classes.

Can we get a general order of what math, science, and social studies you’ll be in according to your school’s curriculum? Like, what do you take fresh year, sophomore year, etc.

Oh, I didn’t even think about that. I’ll try and get my expected schedules prepared in a tiny bit, and then bump the thread with them. Thanks for bring that up @gnastygnorc

Freshmen:

AP Psychology
AP Human Geography

Sophomore:

AP Stats
AP Physics
AP World History
AP Chemistry

Junior:
AP Environmental Science
AP Calc AB
AP Macro
AP Micro
AP Euro

Senior:
AP Biology
AP English
AP US History
AP Calc BC

I’m working on getting my predicted schedule written down.

@MovingtoTexas I like the schedule, but why such little AP’s in Freshmen year, even if they are simple, I wish to install an amazing work ethic in my Freshman year. I also wish to somehow sneak Music Theory in, because that is my passion. Other than that, nice schedule.

Its nice that you are headstrong with it, but really its better to take only 1 or 2 your freshmen year just to get your feet wet. Imagine, average student takes their first AP exam in 11th grade…so its good enough to colleges that you take two your freshmen year.

Since you want to major in Biology, I would say AP Environmental Science is a good AP to start off with, along with AP Human Geography. Especially if you take Earth Science or Biology freshmen year.

Read this sticky btw, should help you a little.

Here is what I recommend as of now, but when you give the full four years of the core subjects you’ll take I’ll swap stuff out.

Fresh
AP Environmental Science
AP Human Geography

Sophomore
AP World History
AP Chemistry* I consider doing this online if you can.
AP Psychology
AP Stats

Junior
AP Calc AB* Consider doing online if you can
AP European History
AP Physics B* I’d also consider doing online
AP Music Theory
AP US Government, Comparative Govt, Art History, Economics, Foreign Language, what ever interests you at this point.

Senior
AP Calc BC
AP English
AP Biology
AP US History
AP US Government, Comparative Govt, Art History, Economics, Foreign Language, what ever interests you at this point.

Alright, this is a plotted course for myself, but there are some concerns I have. I’ll bring them up some other time, unless you guys would like to answer them. My Freshmen year is basically set in stone, and my 10th Grade year is pretty sure. The rest is in a way, guessing. I’ll list the courses that I believe will have any effect on your advice.

Freshmen
LA-I Advanced
Geometry
Adv. Physics First
Am History Adv

** Sophomore **
LA-II Advanced
Algebra II ( Unless taking any ‘applied’ math classes is a good idea )
Chemistry (unless integrated science is any good)
World History ADV OR Psychology or Sociology

** Junior **

LA-III Advanced
College Trig and/or College Algebra, maybe Pre-Calculus? whatever you guys advise ( once again, unless applied classes are any good)
Chemistry II
AP Biology ( Depending on my time space, I might have to get rid of Chemistry II, and I might have to take Anatomy/Physiology, whatever you guys advise)

NOTE: I may or may not do an American Government class, or I might just fill my schedule with large amounts of Math and Science classes and 1 English class at this point.
If I do, do a social studies class it’d be Am Govt Adv

Senior
Probs no English Class
Depending on what I do Junior Year and if I complete College Algebra, College Trig, and Pre-Calculus then I may or may not be taking any math classes? Pretty in the air at this point…
AP Biology this year possibly
Chemistry II
Anatomy/Physiology
AP U.S. History

So, as you can see, I hardly have any idea of what’s gonna happen my Junior and Senior year, but Freshmen is basically set in stone. The only class which I’ve heard is difficult is Adv. Physics First, but I have a decent background in science, and I should be able to handle it with ease.
Mostly looking for advice for Freshmen and Sophomore year. Even if you don’t want me to feel overwhelmed as a Freshmen year, don’t mind putting a few extra AP’s just as a base line to think about.

If anyone has any concerns or questions, or even want to see my possible choices for classes, don’t hesitate to send me a PM.

So my recommendations for the most part stand except a few changes

Fresh
AP Environmental Science
AP Human Geography

Sophomore
AP World History
AP Chemistry* I consider doing this online if you can.
AP Psychology
AP Music Theory “since you enjoy it”

And then I suppose the rest could change really…because things could change 3 and 4 years from now.

Junior
AP Stats
AP European History
AP Biology
AP US Government
Try to do Pre-Calculus this year

Senior
AP English… still do an English class senior year, most colleges recommend 4 years and most high schools require 4 years.
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
AP Physics
AP Comparative Govt, Art History, Economics, Foreign Language, what ever interests you at this point.

Seems like a good schedule. I don’t necessarily hsve to do Music Theory if it holds me back. I’ll order some book tonight for the first two. And if I have time, I might do Music Theory thid year as well.

Yeah, suppose it could all be altered later…based on if you change what you want to major ir, if your school offers more APs, etc.

Anyone else got any suggestions?

Bumps before I go to bed.

The more advice the better guys :)

Wow, oboefreak, you’re an 8th grader?

Well then, quite ambitious, I applaud you. Just don’t burn yourself out!

Thanks man! I sent my 8th grade year extremely lazy.

Then near the end, I had this intense passion for my studies. I always made A’s but it’s elementary after all. This year I struggled, because I wouldn’t turn in homework. But as I said right t the end if the year I had thid insane passion. I got hundreds on stuff again.

Good that you are forming a good work ethic, because the next four years are what matter!

Bump.

I’m already learning but said subjects, and I was wondering wether or not I should add on another AP, or focus on a in ACT + SAT score?
