This year I'm taking AP Calculus, literature, psychology, and economics, would it be a good idea to self study for stats since I didn't have room for it in my schedule? Will the course load be too much? Is stats generally an easy self study? This isn't just for the sake of getting college credit this would really benefit the major I'm going into. Which review book is best if I do decide to self study this course?

It depends on the person (if you can memorize things easily, amount of free time, etc.) but I did it last year and it wasn’t bad at all. Most people generally agree it’s one of the easiest to self-study. I crammed the week before, reading Barron’s (can’t compare with other books) and doing the practice problems (obviously not recommended if you actually want to retain the information) and got a 5. A good amount of it will probably come intuitively/be familiar and I thought it was pretty interesting. If you do decide to do it, remember to familiarize yourself with the AP equation sheet and to look over old scoring guidelines online (things like stating assumptions, test used, etc. are important). If you give yourself enough time, it’s 100% feasible.

Agreed. I’m in AP stats (not self studying) and it’s so boring I actually wanna do self-study. It’s not a demanding class at all.
