<p>I have a few quick questions about self-studying APs.</p>

<li><p>If I decide to self-study, how do I take the test if the class is not offered at my school? We have a testing center which is used for people taking tests by themselves but if I was the only person in the school to take the AP test for the subject would I need to go to another school?</p></li>
<li><p>For comp gov, is Ethel Woods 5th ed the best book if I want a 5?</p></li>
<li><p>I am considering self-studying econ, should I do both or only one? If only one, which should I do. My school does not offer any econ classes but I am considering majoring in it so I think I should learn some general info about it.</p></li>
<li><p>For those who have self-studied APs, was it enjoyable if you liked the topic? I am really interested in the social sciences so econ and comp gov would be very interesting to me but if I learned it by myself would it be less exciting than a classroom experience?</p></li>

<p>1) If you want to self-study an exam just go to your test coordinator or college counselor(jan-march-ish) you want to take the exam, and if you could take it there or at another school. Usually (almost always) your coordinator will simply order the exam for the amount of students taking them, and let you take it at your own school. For example I self-studied AP Human Geography and told the test coordinator about it so she simply ordered 1 exam for me to take at my own school even though the school didn’t offer it.</p>
<p>2) I am self-studying Coparatie Government as well, ad from the reviews I think you can. As long as you read and study diligintely you can.</p>
<p>3) I’ve heard from nearly everybody that AP Microeconomics is easier. Ofcourse that is subjective though. It would probably be to your best advantage if you did both; after all the study guides cover both. I would just recomend doing Micro before Macro in studying that is.</p>
<p>4) I honestly found self-studying a grueling expierience. But at the end of the day I got a 5 so I’m happy. Don’t get me wrong though it can be fun! I actually liked Human Geography but sometimes it’s painful to do all the work since you don’t get your results till much after. But it depends, it’s different for everyone. I like Macro and microeconomics, and I am enjoying studying for them. Do it with time though, part of the reason why I found it painful was because I started studying in late January. </p>
<p>Good luck, you can do it, and even if you feel like giving up don’t. Just study consistently and you can get a 5.</p>
