self-studying APUSH?

i just changed schools. i was taking APUSH online through keystone at my old school, but my old school wants to cancel the class (even though they already paid for it...) because i'm not in the school district any more.

so my question is this: how hard is it to self-study for APUSH? does anyone have any review book recommendations?

thanks in advance!

i'm doing the same thing as an international student, using PR and the American Pageant... i might get barrons, since PR is too superficial!

You can do it, but it will be harder than if you had the class. it's good that you've already taken some of it online (right?), but I would definately suggest not only the Barron book, but ALSO the Barron APUSH flashcards. the flashcards will help you ALOT right around exam time because you can brush up on the key facts you need to know and major events. I used them, and within an hour of the flashcards I recalled like everything I knew.
but if there is any type of textbook you could possibly get your hands on, even to skim through, that might be a good idea, because when it comes to the essays, your going to want to know not just the historical events, but also the connections between them and the effects and such, other wise your essays will not be so good and youll be lucky to get a 3.
But definately stick to Barron's...the Princeton Review is okay, but not as in depth and helpful (at least to me) as Barrons.
Otherwise, I don't think I would have gotten a 5 on the test.
Hope that helps!
