Self studying tips for June 12th?

Hey guys. As it turns out, I will be starting to self study for the ACT right after my AP Chemistry exam on Tuesday. Does anyone have any tips for me? I plan on starting off by buying PR's ACT to get a simple/concise overview of what's tested and the Red Book to take approximately 2 practice tests a week. Since I will most likely finish PR after 2 or so weeks, I may consider buying Barron's ACT 36 for the remaining 2 weeks before the ACT. Is this a decent idea?
I'm sure I'd be fine in the math section, for I'm a decently strong student in math. Are there anyways to improve my reading/writing/grammar for the exam? Also, how hard is the essay graded in comparison to the SAT (if that's a possible comparison)? one of my main concerns is learning how to write a decent essay for the exam; would taking notes/annotating sample essays from the ACT website be a good idea to see what the graders are looking for?

Thank you in advanced for any tips!

that all sounds good dude. Well in the Princeton Review: Cracking the ACT… they offer some really helpful tips for grammar/writing section of the exam. I have not taken the SAT nor am I planning on taking it, so i will not be able to give you a comparison. As for writing the essay, ehh there’s not much too it. Try to have a solid set up, a good thesis helps. Maybe include a couple of points to show the other point of view. ( all of the essays are questions asked by high schoolers that ask for an opinion ( license at 16 or 18 why?) Stuff like that

Hope this helps

good luck!

Thank you very much for the input!
What’s the normal length of the ACT essay though? 4 or 5 paragraphs? Also, does length matter?

thanks again :p
