<p>Does Stanford have a 2 semester system or a 3 semester (trimester??) system? I remember reading somewhere about it and I got completely confused. Also, if they work on a trimester system, does that mean 3 finals instead of 2?</p>

<p>Yep, three quarters, each about ten weeks long. It’s called the “quarter” system because summer is the other quarter, but most students don’t take classes in the summer.</p>
