<p>Any chance Union will ever move to a traditional semester system? Union's school year ends so much later than almost every other college.</p>
<p>I don’t think so. At least not anytime soon. I mean, the trimester works well for Union. You have a six week break over the month of December and you don’t have to worry about traveling back up between thanksgiving and winter break, you have 10 weeks of classes each trimester of three classes so you can focus more on three classes rather than four. Also, you can get a internship during that long mid year break.
Yeah, getting out June 10th isn’t so good but that’s just one disadvantage.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure this won’t happen in the foreseeable future. Trimesters are pretty nice and everyone is very well adapted to them. Getting out late only means you have to search for a summer job over the phone from school…that and your return home is a big event and a good reason to have a party! You can also work or travel over the long Christmas break. The school also runs 3-week min-terms abroad during the break which are pretty cool.</p>
