Very exciting Can’t wait

Thanks, omgitzpun.

suspense

My email is blocked at school… tense all day. #firstworldproblems

Ahhh! Exciting, thanks for the update, omgitzpun.

@Testobsessed (me):
“On the telephone a few weeks ago they said “Usually by Thanksgiving.” I know this will stir up a lot of anticipation, but that’s what I was told. I assume someone will post here when they have heard from them. According to past years’ threads, it seems like it might be that not everyone gets a letter on the same day (?).”

@Cocacola123:
“I called coca cola scholars today, and the representative I spoke with confirmed that no letters have been sent. A physical notification via mail and email will be sent to EVERYONE who applied to be a coca cola scholar starting next week on Monday. Again, unlike last year, everyone will be receiving notification by email regardless of whether they have qualified to the next stage or not. Start looking for those next week. Just trying to clear up a few dishonest posts and speculation.”

@Omgitzpun:
“I called them yesterday and the lady said emails will be going out tomm (Dec 1st)!”

Looks as if calling Coca Cola isn’t much more reliable than wild speculation is.

Well, to be fair, Coca-Cola might have differing time tables as things become more clear. They might get a better picture of who they’re going to select or something might change in the logistics of it all. On the whole, I’m more inclined to trust the last post because 1. they’ve promised the results by then and 2. I really, really hope to find out ASAP.

Also: Cocacola123 also said:
“No, they will likely not be able to meet the deadline. At the same time, the representative did not discount the possibility of emails being sent out before Monday, December 5th. This information is only meant to confirm that no letters have been sent/received and reassure families who did not find mail from coca cola today in their mailboxes”

So, it not like the representatives are directly contradicting. They very well could have moved up the delivery time.

But you’re right, it’s really confusing and a bit scary when the representatives give out really vague and seemingly contradictory information.

Ok. It is December 1st! From reading all the posts on this thread it sounds likely that people will be receiving mail or email today. For everyone out there watching this thread, please post as soon as you get something. With details if possible. Thanks!

Just FYI. I called Coca-Cola Scholars Program @Toll Free 800.306.2653 a few minutes ago and was told the announcement of semifinalists both by mail and email would be around mid-December.

^^ I think they are just trying to mess with everyone now! LOL Mid December would really handicap semifinalists in getting all of the documentation back to them because of school holidays. They would probably have to push back the submit date for round two, I would think.

I don’t know what to believe! I was hoping to see an email today, but that doesn’t seem likely. I’m so disappointed. :(

Still a long way to the end of the day, Jayfizzy. “Like” the Coca-Cola scholars page on FB, I bet they will put something up there as soon as they release names/emails. Maybe not!

I called today as well, and was told that the announcement for semi-finalists will come out in mid-December.

Or, in otherwords, the 15th could be doubly the worst day ever…

They said that the list would be released in mid-December and that they’re having technology issues… great. Ugh I’ll be so upset if I end up getting deferred from my SCEA school because I would have had the opportunity to update them on my scholarship semifinalist status and other accomplishments I’ve made since I submitted my app in October… I think I’ll still send them an update letter, just without the semifinalist notice.

The “update” part is in big red letters under the scholars tab.

That’s horrible news :(

I follow @cokescholars on twitter and they gave this update today: “Attention applicants: we will notify everyone of their status in mid-Dec via email. We had 83,000 submitted apps this year - whew!”

I vote we all forget about it and focus on other things.
Then when we get our letters it will be a happy (hopefully) surprise (:

I have to say all this chatter and worry is misguided. First off…as I have told others, you have to take with a grain of salt what people post on here. I hate to say it but people lie or stretch the truth a lot as they do on most forums. Yes some post the truth, but suffice it to say that many do not. As far as the Coke scholarship…dont be so focused on the Dec 1 date. Its not written in stone that it has to be Dec 1. They do this every year so for sure eventually it will be posted on the site and you will ( or wont) be notified. All this back and forth and speculation is silly. And obviously the one person who posted that he got his letter already must be not telling the truth…not to mention that he also happens to know a friend in another state that got his…both before the actual Dec 1 date. Dont believe everything you read on this. I bet you half the people or more who say they got this or that or got accepted here or there didnt. Call me a cynic but its true. I do wish everyone luck…including my son…but when they make the announcement they will make it and we will all hear about it. There is no big conspiracy regarding the annoucement!
