SEND ALL FRESHMAN - JUNIOR YEAR AP scores to UCSD admission?

it says on the important dates and deadlines page that we need to do this by late may... how are we supposed to send it?? mail, email??

You have to tell Collegeboard to send them for you. YOU aren't physically sending your AP scores in an envelope to them.

Can someone please explain how the scores are sent? I went on collegeboard and I'm confused..

:edit:
I found the information. You have to call the AP center: (888) 225-5427

well they told me (collegeboard) that this wasnt neccesary

It is. If you want your AP credits to be taken into account when you register for classes, you have to send your scores in before june (or else they won't have enough time to process your score).

You should've sent your scores to UCSD when you were taking an AP Exam because this service is included, they left a little box where you could fill in your colleges information to send all your scores- be aware that collegeboard sends ALL AP Scores, you can't choose which one to send, including ones taken junior year, etc.
Otherwise, you could actually e-mail them. E-mail them at apexams@ets.org and include the following information:
1. Full Name
2. AP Number (optional, if you know it you should include it because it can speed up the process but if you don't know it obviously don't guess)
3. Year(s) the Exam(s) were Taken
4. Name(s) of the Exam(s) Taken
5. Current, permanent address
6. Daytime phone number
7. Social Security Number
8. Date of Birth
9. Name of School where you took the test
10. Name of the recipient college(s) and the city in which it is located:
11. Payment: Credit card:
Number:
Expiration date:

it doesnt matter since i wont register for the classes that i will get credit from the ap tests

ahh i just read this at my new student website:

AP SCORES

AP test scores taken prior to your senior year of high school must be requested explicitly. They may not be automatically sent with your senior year scores.

To order your Advanced Placement (AP) scores write to:

Advanced Placement Exams
P.O. Box 6671
Princeton, NJ 08541-6671
Phone #: 609.771.7300

it is just a precautionary step....

i have the same problem with my AP scores. I do remember placing UCSD as the receipt of my scores before I took my senior AP tests, however, collegeboard says that after June 15 scores will be sent to our designated colleges. now from what I read in the above replies, would this be considered too late?

I think UCSD is either outdated or confused on that statement, because collegeboard on the other hand explicitly states that all grade reports INCLUDE scores from previous years. I think UCSD is saying that statement b/c some ppl have multiple grade reports?

hello_operator: i am worried too. AP test scores are released on mid july but the deadline is for july 15!

The deadline isn't even that important. I remember I didn't send them until I was at UCSD for a few months!

The only thing turning your AP scores late will affect is your registration time (registration for classes is determined on your preexisting credits, the more credits you have the earlier your registration time).

so, there is no exact deadline for AP credit? i like this loosely structured agenda..haha...is May 31st a good cut off for sending in any random AP scores? oh yeah ric and your right about getting new AP scores for '07....this is just completely screwed up.

so if u dont send by may 31st its okay???

ucsd just sent an email saying the ap grade report they receive is cumulative...

so basically, as long as you wrote ucsd on your ap test(s) as the school to send your ap scores to, you'll be fine...

The only thing colleges use AP tests scores for is college credit. So the only thing that happens if you don't turn it in by May 31 is that you won't get college credit until you do send your scores in.

My roommate didn't get his scores in until 2nd quarter... Its not that big of a deal... Unless you want a good registration time, that is...

^
I did the same thing.

16399, did you get a decent appointment time for 2nd quarter, or were you stuck with all the leftover classes?

Well I got all the classes I wanted, although not necessarily at the time I wanted. I possibly did get a good appointment time considering I officially had no credits coming in.

Obviously it's best to get your scores in before the deadline, but all I'm saying is that it isn't critical if you don't.
