I got a 35 on the ACT (E: 35 M: 36 R:32 S:36 E/W:31) and 2380 on the SAT (R:800 M:780 W:800). My counselor thinks I should send both scores because she thinks the 36s in math and science on the ACT complement my SAT math score. Will Harvard look at both sets of scores and take that into account, or is there a downside to sending my ACT score?

Although I understand your counselor’s viewpoint, the counter argument is that your ACT reading score does not compliment your SAT reading score (800 vs. 32 – which is a big difference). If you submit both tests, your ACT reading score might detract from your perfect SAT Reading, perfect SAT Writing and near perfect SAT math. I would just send in the SAT score and be done with it.

both are outstanding scores. I would send them both. it shows that you scored well on 2 different types of standardized tests.

my son also did very well on both and he sent both in to Harvard. yes, he was accepted and is now a senior.

Best of luck! :)

I would send both. The results tend to reinforce each other. You got almost perfect scores in both types of exams. I think that is impressive.

Your SAT and ACT scores are in the same “bandwidth”. Sending in both would help.

Send both.

You got a 34 ACT which is equivalent to like 2280, so just send your SAT it is much better. Also 780 Math is one wrong, which was probably just a careless mistake lol.

I got a 35 on the ACT, but you are right that the 780 was just 1 careless mistake. I guess I’m leaning towards sending both, but I’m still a little worried about the lower reading and writing scores.
