Hello! I know Princeton says they “recommend but do not require 2 subject tests” but we all know that you basically have to send them… but my problem is this. I have an 800 in Math 2 but a 510 in Japanese and a 620 in World History. The Japanese is 7th percentile overall and WH is 46th. Japanese also has an incredibly embarrassing 2nd percentile listening score. So my obvious problem is whether to send one of my bad scores or not.
I tried to take Japanese to get world language credit at my school and I tried to take WH as redemption for my AP 3. I think submitting the WH would tell admissions “Yes I really don’t know that much history and I just proved it to you again” and I think submitting Japanese would invalidate my 1st in Tennessee NJE score on top of just being absolutely embarrassing. I know there’s added context of SAT II being more cutthroat (esp for foreign language) but without the raw score data I have no way of telling admissions that I know more Japanese than that.
My third option would be only sending Math II, but I don’t think that says anything extra about me considering my 5 in Calc AB. A fourth, undesirable option would be taking another subject test, but Japanese isn’t available in December (don’t want to study for it anyway) and anything I know I’d score well on (namely Chemistry) is already reflected in my AP scores.
So, would it be that bad to just submit Math 2? Or should I submit another one?
