I just have Jan SAT score back, 2290 (M800, V750, W740) but this is my fourth SAT score. My previous scores are as follows:

2230 (M740, V750, W740),
2230 (M790, V670, W770),
2240 (M690, V800, W770).

The reason I took it a fourth time was to seek a higher SAT score with combined Math and Verbal components of above 1500. Many Scholarships and special programs (ie Honors Programs or BA/MD) have a "magic" cutoff number around 1480 or 1500 on one test set (not composite). My previous 1490 is just barely around.

The new score does reach such "magic" number with 1550 but this is my fourth time. If I send this new score, will colleges feel this not good or think I am too obssesed?

I am applying Ivys, BA/MDs, and for some competitive scholarships. Thanks for your opinions!

Geez just send it.

Also, I don't believe there are any cutoff numbers.

You. Are. Crazy. Colleges will think you are too obsessed. Ivys take the highest scores on individual sections: 790 M, 800 V, and 770 W. That, my friend, is 2360.

I know some Ivys will feel not good for a fourth SAT score but some special programs or scholarships do have such cutoff numbers, for example, PSU Broddock Scholarship "Braddock Scholars mush have outstanding grades in high school, strong letters of recommendation and SAT scores of at least 1480 on one test setting.....", and I know some other special programs have similar numbers and some colleges do pay attention to single set numbers.

It is hard for me now to send or not send the fourth score. More opinions, thanks.

dude u have a 2370
i want that so bad
ur kinda inconsistent on verbal though

I thought that once you took the SAT's and told them which schools to send scores to - they sent all of your scores to all of the schools you listed. I didn't think you could decide that one of times you took them you didn't want reported. Could someone clear this up for me?
Thanks

The previous three test scores were already sent to the Colleges/Programs I am applying to before I took the fourth test in January. If I don't request to send out my fourth test score then ETS will not send it out as I understand and thus the colleges will not see it. This is the advantage someone told me that I can decide to send my last score after seeing it.

I guess Colleges like Harvard, Yale or Princeton don't like this fourth score but college special programs and scholarships will be ok. Is this correct?

Again, send in or not, more opinions please!
