Sending a short, additional letter to admissions

Well, I've recently had an epiphany of sorts regarding my academic interests and passions, and this realization has strengthened my desire to go to Reed for a number of reasons.

I was thinking about sending in a short, one page letter to admissions explaining what has happened, but if they will simply disregard my writing as annoying or desperate, I probably won't send anything in.

At first I figured it would express interest, but now I'm starting to think that the admissions office may be in a frenzy at the moment, and there is probably little desire for more paperwork. But then I think, Reed is a liberal arts college, they love to know about their applicants! I don't know, I'm conflicted. Anyone have any advice?

Don’t worry about sending in supplemental material. I don’t know if it’s too late in the day to do that, but I sent in lots of supplemental material and most Admission Officers at Liberal Arts Colleges are glad to read through additional material (or at least they claim to be). So send it in, except make sure that it adds something new to your application and isn’t simply repeating something you’ve already put across. Also, e-mail the Admission Office before sending anything in to ask if you can still add to your file before sending anything in.
