I took the SAT twice and was unhappy with both of my scores (1390 and 1420). I took the ACT once, and I was satisfied with that score (34). I also took two SAT Subject tests. I only want to send my ACT and SAT Subject scores to colleges, but I’ve heard that I can’t send my SAT Subject scores without sending my two regular SAT scores unless I use Score Choice, which some schools discourage. Is it possible for me to only send my ACT and SAT Subject scores without sending my regular SAT scores? Would it hurt my chances of getting into Ivy Leagues and other highly ranked universities if I send all my scores? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
My D primarily sent her ACT and SAT Subject test scores. Two of her colleges required all scores – Barnard and Cornell. Read each college’s testing policy carefully and comply, but most are fine with submitting either ACT or SAT and then the SAT Subject tests fall in a separate category and can be submitted on their own.
Hope this helps and congrats on your testing success!
You can do what you suggest – send ACT and subject test scores, while withholding SAT scores-- for every college in the world except Georgetown, which requires you to send all SATs, all ACTs, and all subject test scores, and Barnard, which requires you to provide both all SAT and all ACT scores. Withholding scores will not adverserly affect admission chances at any other college. (Cornell, mentioned above, has recently adopted acceptance of score choice).
