(unsurprisingly) MIT is my dream school, so i’m trying to up my chances of getting in. I’m planning on sending my ACT score, which I got a 36 on (first try! :D), but I got my essay score back at I got a 7. How bad is that? I heard the average is an 8, so I’m afraid my 7 will look bad on my application.
I also feel that a 7 isn’t really an accurate representation of how well I write (again, not surprising - it’s a standardized test :/), so I requested a check from ACT just in case. But in the meantime, should I plan on taking the ACT again to raise my essay score? Thank you!
(It’s also worth noting that most colleges don’t require the essay score, but do require that I report it or send an official report, so they’ll see it anyways.)
Don’t take the test again. MIT doesn’t count the essay score.
hey space, congrats on you 36 ACT! Can i inquire about your extracirriculars and GPA?
