Hi all, applying RD. I recently won a few awards, and I know that Lehigh is big on demonstrated interest. Should I send my admissions counselor an email detailing my new awards and maybe asking a few questions (basically a letter of continued interest)? I’ve been to campus officially three times, but am very academically overqualified and am worried that Lehigh will think I am using them as a safety. I have not talked to my admissions counselor directly. Is this annoying overkill, or just an additional measure I can take?
Congratulations on winning the awards. I say send the update, especially since you haven’t talked to your admissions rep yet. You could use the info as part of introducing yourself (never too late, in my opinion), and it certainly suggests a continued interest in Lehigh.
My D did the same thing - recently got inducted into a Music Honors Society, so she emailed her admissions rep and let her know. I definitely saw it more as a way to add to the demonstrated interested (afterall, how many official visits can ya do! My D’s friend goes to Lehigh and she visits a lot, but those obviously aren’t ‘tracked’).
