Emailing Updates to Admissions Officers in February/March (T15 Schools)

I will preface this by saying that my awards on the common app itself were uninspiring. Some were decent, but nothing that would blow away admissions officers.

Within the last month, I have earned first place at three different regional and super regional speech and debate competitions. Is this something I can email my admissions officers as good news to update them (I had never won first place at one of these competitions before this year)?

Thank you.

It is fine to send a BRIEF update to admissions officers. Keep it short and sweet - a paragraph at most. Reaffirm your interest in the school and let them know of your recent top placements.

tbh… unless one of those were Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford, etc. (any octafinals or quarterfinals TOC bid, those are the big ones from the last month), I don’t think it’s worth it. If you want to PM me which ones I can help more. Also speech or debate? Big difference there. Open Division? JV? Novice? RRs?
