I'm currently applying to USC and the deadline for my application is December 1st. My Fall term isn't over until December 11th... does this mean I should be sending over my Fall term grades as soon as I receive them? Will USC ask for them? I know for most applications you're supposed to wait to send your transcripts until you have your Fall term grades, but the due dates for most applications are typically way later than December 1st. If they ask for my Fall term grades, and consider my admittance, is it possible they might still send a Spring Grade Request as well?

I assume you mean University of Southern California for which you need to apply by Dec 1 to qualify for any merit scholarships. If that is correct, then you need to send a mid-year report with your grades after your grades are released for first semester. USC will not be sending you anythiny to tell you that since it has already told you that on its website: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/firstyear/prospective/checklist.html Also, colleges make admission decisons before spring semester grades are available and those will not be requested by USC or other colleges you are applying to, but you will need to send a final transcript (again without the college making any special requerst that you do so) in the summer if you are admitted and plan to attend.

Correct, University of Southern California! My deadline is earlier because I’m applying as a music major.

Is that link you attached also for transfer students? It says it’s for first-year students, so I went to the transfer checklist and the “mid-year-report” isn’t on the checklist…

I assumed you were a frshman applicant and not applying to special programs. For Thorton as a transfer you need to get application and all supporting materials (including any required portfolios or composiitons or other requirements of your desired major) in their hands by Dec 1. My understanding is that you will then be evaluated on that material as to whether you should continue on to the audition stage beginning in January but you should likely contact USC to learn exactly what you need to do and when and how to set up an audition. Mid term grades should be sent when they come out if you have not already been rejected by then.
