no, that was a change made in the movie. In the book, she goes to Yale or Brown- I can’t remember

but it doesn’t matter cause NU is cooler anyway ;)

My choir director is an NU alumni - woo!
hahahahaha. She’s now working at THE Google. I love her.

I called today - they said we’d know anytime between now and the 15th. Does that mean they’re sending them?!

@mimi
I think that means that there’s a good possibility that decisions will be sent this week.

Did someone ask if it will be via snail mail or e-mail?

@deadmau
In the book I think it was Brown…but I truly believe Medill is a better journalism school than Brown’s.

@Mimi
Anytime between now and Tuesday?!? I was freaking out when I found out it could possible be Saturday…and then Friday…and now possibly tomorrow or today!!! I don’t think I’ll be able to focus until then…

So they changed their ED policy from a straight yes or no to yes, no, or transfer to the RD pool, right? Then if that happens, the decisions are sent out mid March? Am I right or did I just make that up?

“anytime between now”? so from this point on, every time my phone vibrates and every email i get is gonna drive me crazy

rc2814, that’s right…they defer now…i’d actually just rather know if it’s a yes or a no haha…if i get deferred, the wait will be terrible

@Glenny
OOOH! Excellent and she said we would get an email and a letter.

@RC @Dana
“Anytime between now and December 15th” is a direct quote. Does that mean they started sending them out today? aaaah

I’m thinking that the would probably want to just get the decisions out and done with by this week (before the weekend). Hanukkah starts on Saturday sundown and all, not sure if they’ll take that into considerations. There are, after all, lots o’ jews at Northwestern.

@Mimi, i doubt they’d start sending them today since I’m guessing they’re all sent at the same time and their office is closed now I think, but I’m not 100% sure…but since they said that, I’m thinking any day from now on is fair game :] hopefully tomorrow or friday

Also, it seems like the transfers (as viewed in another thread) have gotten their decisions. If anyone knows a recruited athlete they prob have gotten theirs (or will soon).

I just want the anxiety to be over and know what my next step will be.

I’m in Chicago right now and it’s snowing like no other. For sure, the post office can’t be as efficient currently. There’s also a possibility of a snow-in/snow day tomorrow. I’m not sure what colleges do…

@Dana
I’m with you. I’d rather they tell me a straight yes or no rather than get deferred. I don’t have that kind of patience…I will go nuts.

Agh. I’m usually pretty good with checking my e-mail and whatnot during class, usually waiting until the teacher isn’t teaching or during breaks, but lately, I find myself checking my phone every time it vibrates…and then it gets even more annoying when they’re from NorthEASTern or Northwest Nazarene about their application offers.

@Glenny
I have heard borrow stories about Chicago weather but I think all of them are from people who live in the sad places without snow. What’s the weather like??

Horror not borrow…

that information does not help much! It’s just like what we’ve been discussing on this thread.

When a Northwestern Rep came to my school, he told us that Northwestern will really try not to defer. They only defer around 50 kids.
And right now I’m pretty glad I don’t have a phone that can check emails.
As for the weather, I really don’t think it will be that bad guys. Just spend some money on a really good coat, waterproof boots, and gloves.

So it’ll definitely be an email?

im sooo psyched/scared!

aaahh!

I specifically remember filling this out on the Common App… I’m going to reply to the email and make sure it’s not a mistake… printing & faxing the thing again tomorrow though, don’t want to take any chances! @_@ I almost had a heart attack when I saw “Northwestern” in my inbox… gah!

@rc2814
I’m actually new to chicago weather as I’ve moved here only recently, but so far it hasn’t been bad. I hear February’s the worst month, but I think Northwestern is well worth it.

@pnptruong
Any info is better than nothing. Penn, Cornell, Brown, etc. all have their release dates set. I don’t understand why they make us sit on the edges of our seat. DAT aint RITE!

@Toward
Oooo. So if they want to lock you in on that ED agreement, to me, that sounds like a good indication of…positive outcome…

I’m kind of really scared right now.

@FJZhou
Wind? Rain? Snow? When?How cold?

Yeah, that’s what I was hoping! hahaha.
But now I’m paranoid that I’ll somehow be unable to fax the thing tomorrow… any number of things could happen! hysterical laughter

got lots more to do tonight, see you guys tomorrow!

Update… the Common App says I did indeed submit my ED agreement, and I have [a screenshot](<a href=“ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs”>ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs) to prove it.

On closer inspection, it says the counselor has to sign and submit it as well… my counselor is a great guy, but sometimes he doesn’t have it all together… I bet that’s what happened. Crap.
Guess I’ll get his signature and fax it tomorrow!
