Sending only ACT scores, not SAT - good idea?

My ACT scores are much higher than my SAT scores, and I wanted to report them exclusively to colleges. However, one college has already told me they received my SAT scores. I never sent them and my school swears they never sent them either...does the college board sell SAT scores to colleges? How else is this possible?

I'm asking the college to ignore the SAT scores (which aren't bad, just not nearly as good as my ACT), but I'm wondering if this is even a good idea.
Do colleges only look at your highest test - even between the two different exams? Will other colleges weigh their decision more heavily on my ACT scores than SAT scores, even if I submit both? Or will my SAT score negatively impact my application?

Thanks for the help!

I have the similar problem but the other way around. In the common application I’m putting all my scores in (the good and the bads) but I don’t want to spend money sending ACT, I just want to send my SAT (I & II) scores. Do you think colleges would mind?

yeah… I have a better ACT score too…
I think if it is the top schools, most send their sats…

I am sending both, but mine aren’t terrible, my sats are just a bit better
