What is the most economical way to send packages to McGill, UPS or U.S. mail? Does one pay duty on goods (like clothes, not new) sent? If so, is it paid in the States?

I found US Post Office to be the best. I sent old clothes and didn't pay duty.

The US Postal Service works the best--just be aware that Canadian mail service is very slow. The Canadian Post Office doesn't even work on weekends. I have a daughter living in Guatemala , as well as Montreal. Mail from Vermont gets to
Guatemala quicker by one day than mail to Montreal.

I have never paid duty on items that will be for personal use and not left in
Canada.

Thanks for the information. Of course now he says he's coming home for our Thanksgiving so maybe that'll be the quickest.
