Sending SAT reports for the fine parents of cc

<p>I'm helping my low-income nephew with his college applications.<br>
He is applying to CSUs, UCs, Claremont Mckenna, Pitzer, Occidental, Cal Lutheran.
His current SAT scores are 1440 out of 2400.
He is retaking SAT on 12/6/14.
Deadline for CSUs and UCs are 11/30/14.
Deadline for Claremont Mckenna is 12/1/14.</p>

<p>Questions for the group:
1. If he sends his SAT scores now for CSUs, UCs, and Claremont McKenna, then does he have to resend his scores after he gets his 12/6/14 scores?
2. He gets 4 free scores sent with his 12/6/14 SAT. If he does not send any SAT scores now and has his free scores sent to CSUs, UCs and Claremont McKenna, will it be too late?
3. Is there any other way to avoid the cost of sending out additional scores? He has a fee waiver for taking the test. Not sure if any fee waivers are applied to sending out scores.
4. What would be the best way to send the scores so that they are received "on time" at the lowest cost?</p>

<p>Regarding question number 1:</p>

<li>Yes, for each school that accepts December test scores and for which he wants to show those scores to (or requires all scores like UC).</li>
</ul>

<p>Regarding question number 2:</p>

<li>UC accepts the December tests, according to <a href=“http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/examination-requirement/”>http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/examination-requirement/&lt;/a&gt; .</li>
<li>The various CSU campuses have different deadlines for receiving SAT scores, so some campuses may consider the December test but others will not. Check their web sites.</li>
<li>For both UC and CSU, just one SAT score report per system is needed, so that can be two of the four included score reports for the December test.</li>
<li>For each private school, check its web site on whether the December test is accepted. It looks like Occidental has an SAT or ACT receipt deadline of January 10; the others have RD application deadlines of January 1, which is the implied SAT or ACT receipt deadline in the absence of any mention of a specific SAT or ACT deadline (Pitzer is test optional). For CMC, ask when the test scores are due if applying by the merit scholarship deadline of December 1. Please verify these deadlines yourself and ask the schools specifically if you are unsure.</li>

<p>Regarding question number 3:</p>

<li>It appears that four additional fee waivers for score report sending are available if one is eligible for a fee waiver. Note that this is lifetime, not per test. So, if more than four reports are needed for the December test, try this method to get more at no charge.</li>

<p>Regarding question number 4:</p>

<p>Assuming the deadlines are as described above…</p>

<ul>
<li>Use one of the additional fee waivers for score report sending on CSU if any campuses do not accept the December test.</li>
<li>Use one of the additional fee waivers for score report sending on CMC if useful for the merit scholarship deadline.</li>
<li>Use the four included reports for the December test on UC, CMC, Cal Lutheran, and either Occidental, or CSU if any of the campuses accept the December test.</li>
<li>Use one of the additional fee waivers for score report sending on Occidental if you needed to use the fourth included report on CSU.</li>
<li>Use one of the additional fee waivers for score report sending on (test optional) Pitzer if the score is high enough that he wants them to see it.</li>
</ul>

<p>Again, please verify the deadlines yourself and call the colleges directly if you are unsure. If the assumptions above are incorrect, you may need to pay for additional score reports beyond the four included ones and the four extra free ones.</p>

<p>Note that <a href=“http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1128”>http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1128&lt;/a&gt; indicates that test-optional Pitzer’s SAT score submitting frosh had CR of 650 average (610-670 25%-75% range) and M of 660 average (600-700 25%-75% range). That might help give him a basis of comparison to decide whether he wants to include his SAT scores to test-optional Pitzer.</p>
