I recently received an email that specifically stated that I'd only get my free score reports for the June 1st exam if I ordered them before June 10th. However, I don't actually get the scores for this test until June 20th.

Does this mean that I'd have to send colleges my scores without actually looking at them? If this is the case, I'd rather pay a fee.

My son is in the same boat and he did order the scores reported on June 20 even though we will not know the SAT2 scores until then. However, he needs the SAT2 scores as part of admissions potentially pre-reading his application in early fall and there will be no time to take them again before then, so the scores will be what they will be.

Also, if you apply to schools which require that all scores be reported (like Columbia, for example) those schools will see all the scores anyway. Maybe you can use your free score reports for those schools, if you are applying to any. If i am right, Then it won’t make much of a difference in the end, but you’ll still save the 44.00.

Consider sending them to safeties and schools that need all scores anyway. You are not going to loose anything but may potentially save you some money. When you get better scores or after taking other SAT tests (SAT2 vs SAT1), you will need to send scores again anyway. In case this attempt get you a good score, at least you don’t need to pay for the reports for 4 schools that you need to send them anyway. Only for the very critical schools which accept score choice that you may want to withhold your score until later.

Each test has four free sends to colleges. To use those free sends, you have to designate the colleges in your test registration by nine days after taking the test (today for a June 1 test). In other words, the only way you can use your free sends for any given test date is to send the scores from that current test blind. Nothing requires you to actually use the free sends other than to save some money.
