According to the College Board, I can send four scores to colleges for free. Unfortunately, this benefit expires days after I take my October SAT I, which I wanted to be included in the score report.

How should I send the reports? Send them all as one batch, send them separately (use my free credits now and send the October one later - which might be a hassle for admissions?), or what?

Thanks. I don't understand the score-sending as well as I should :/

I think you always get four free choices every time you take the SAT.

If I remember correctly, there’s some option on the CollegeBoard website that automatically sends off to colleges when your October SAT is scored.

The offer of free score reports is meant to be for the SAT you haven’t taken yet. The catch is that you can send them for free, but you won’t know how you’ve done until after they’re sent.

Far be it from me to suggest that the College Board does it this way in order to discourage students who are applying to very selective colleges from sending the free reports. Far be it from me to suggest that the College Board cares more about raking in cash from high school students and their families than it does about what benefits students applying to college.

But I will say that my daughter elected to wait, see her scores, and then send them after she was satisfied, even though it costs more money to do it that way. And we encouraged her to do it that way.

Ah good call. I understand, but a good portion of my colleges demand to see all the SATs I’ve taken, regardless of score, so I do not have a choice in the matter.
