Sending out SAT scores to schools this weekend. Most of the schools require Subject tests in addition to SATI. One does not. Did well in intended major. Should be admitted to the main college but looking to preadmit in a more competitive program at the school. Should Subject tests be sent or does this make it look like this school is a "safety"(it is but not the preadmit)...or at best not first choice since the others are "reach" schools?

I wd send. My son has taken many SATIIs, rather than the required two, and we are sending all scores to all schools per our counselors advice.

Send them. It never hurts to have good scores on your record, and every school you are applying to knows there’s competition (unless you are applying ED). If they want you badly enough, they might give you merit money ;).

We sent good scores to the schools that didn’t require them. It can’t possibly hurt.

Sending…thank you:)!

My S sent his SAT II scores to his prospective colleges. The school he ended up with didn’t require them, but if sent they would be used to analyze class placement for English and Math.

Because of these scores, he waived out of several math and English classes.

I definitely would advise sending. It couldn’t hurt.

I don’t think it ever hurts to send GOOD SAT II scores whether or not they are required. I doubt there are many, if any, admissions officers who would look at 790 score in Chemistry and say “dadgummit, this kid’s just TOO smart for our school!”

We sent all the scores to all the schools. Call it laziness. We just didn’t want to sort through who wanted what.
