I am a bit conflicted over my course selections for next year.

Through 11th grade, I have followed the pattern of taking core classes, one language, and one "fun" elective. The AP classes I have taken so far include AP World, APUSH, Calc AB, Chem, Physics B, and English Lang. I have also taken Spanish and Choir every year.

Next year, I plan to take Govt, Spanish, Calc BC, and English Lit at the AP level. This leaves three spots open in my schedule. My choir director is amazing and I would love to participate in two choirs next year; however, I am concerned about how this would reflect on my work ethic.

The only science classes available at my school which I have not taken are AP Psych, AP Bio, and AP Enviro. Of these, AP Psych and Enviro are regarded as "slacker" classes and are taught by incompetent teachers (according to the rumor mill). AP Bio is little better. Would I come off as a slacker to colleges if I take two choir classes and just AP Bio next year? Would this still be regarded as a "rigorous curriculum"? The choirs don't have much educational merit; they are just fun classes.

How much would taking a second AP science (Enviro) instead of a second choir make a difference in my application? At this point, I'm leaning towards taking the two sciences and sticking with just one choir because I don't want to jeopardize my transcript. I am also uncomfortable with the idea of only having 5 "real" classes.

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear any second opinions... Thanks!
