3.0 is straight Bs Re en Kam...thats not that low...its low to get in...i dont think its low to stay in haha...slacking is fun...although I don't plan on dropping to a 3.0

lishnik: Maybe it's different at my school. Most the people in my class have 3.25 or higher but they don't all have straight Bs. Or maybe they were giving weighted GPAs...that's a possibility...

for me to have a cumulative of a 3.0 would be me getting like solid 1.5s...and that wouldnt look good, i was just saying at least stayin above 3.0 isnt that hard.

I think jose took the question to be for accepted people. If you're going RD, you definately want the mid-year report to be as strong as possible.

This is true, I did take the question for ED students. As he said, if you are not in yet, please do not slack. You definitely want to be as strong as possible.

Anybody with some input on this? I don't especially love science and in no way will it be part of my major.

What about for ED deferees, I might make a B+ in Physics honors, but all others are A's. Do you think that will hurt my chances?

It's hard to say. It will not hurt you to the extent that if you don't get in it will be based on this grade. However, you want to have the best grades possible.

what about after u send in the mid-year report? so 2nd semester grades count? are they going to call your GC and find out?

There is a final year report, as well.

Same rules apply.

ya, but when you send final year report, you are already accept/deny

that's only if you are accepted, right?

is the final year report a form your conselor fills out, or is it your transcript too? at my school, it takes 2-3 weeks to request a transcript, and final grades won't be available until long after school is out.

Yes, for EDers by the time the mid year report comes around they already received their decision, too. My suggestion is to don't play too closely to fire.

Yes

It's a form, I think the transcript needs to be attached.

Just try to keep every class C- or above...I pulled a 14% in English for the last 3rd of my senior year. And if u happen to get a D, just write a tear-jerking bs letter to the school about how u couldnt study cuz ur dog died or something like that.

my letter says that for you have to maintain the grade you've had for the past 3 years. This is for the accepted kids btw. Does this mean that if you have a 4.0 currently that you have to maintain a 4.0? Because that seems kind of stringent.

no; i think they just don't want you to slack off and get really bad grades.

My school sent 8 kids to Penn last year, myself included. Some of them dipped into C's in Calc and nothing happened.

all the way to the flo'

It would be ideal, as I mentioned, but a 3.0 should be fine.

How about changing say changing an honors level class to an art class?

im gonna go out on a limb here and say they meant 'dont **** **** up ENTIRELY.'

dont be afraid of an B or a C, you're accepted. they want you. stop stressing.
